How to Measure Your Handrail

Measure the stair length
Use a measuring tape to measure the wall along the staircase. -
Choose the handrail length
The handrail should usually be the same length as the staircase or slightly longer. In many cases it is recommended to extend the handrail 10–20 cm beyond the first and last step for better support and comfort. -
Check the installation height
The recommended height for most handrails is 85–95 cm (33–37 inches) from the stair step.
How to Install a Wall Mounted Handrail

Mark the bracket positions
Place the handrail against the wall and mark where the brackets will go. -
Drill the holes
Drill holes at the marked points. Use wall anchors if needed. -
Install the brackets
Fix the brackets to the wall using screws. -
Attach the handrail
Place the handrail on the brackets and tighten the screws.
